Test Overload before it launches.
I'm looking for people who actually lift, to train with the app for a couple of weeks and tell me where it gets in the way. Testers get everything unlocked, free, for as long as the test runs.
What you get
- The full app, free. Your first month is on the house, so a two-week test costs you nothing. Ask and I'll send a code that covers longer.
- A direct line to the developer. One person builds this. You report it, I fix it, often the same week.
- Your say in what gets built. Every report goes on a public board — you can watch yours move from reported to shipped, and vote on what other testers have asked for.
What I'm asking
- An Android phone and a Google account you use on the Play Store.
- Train with it for about two weeks — real sessions, not a five-minute look.
- Stay opted in for at least 14 days. Google requires that for a closed test, and leaving early sets the clock back for everyone.
- Tell me what broke, what confused you, and what you wanted it to do.
How to join
- Join the tester group. Google needs your account on a list before it will show you the app. One click: groups.google.com/g/overload-app-testers — use the Google account you use on the Play Store.
- Open the opt-in link on your phone and accept: play.google.com/apps/testing/app.overload. It only works once you are in the group, so do step 1 first.
- Install Overload from Google Play — the same link takes you to the listing, and from then on it updates like any other app.
- Train with it. When something breaks or annoys you, mail me or fill in the report form.
No Google group, or it won't let you in? Mail support.overload@gmail.com with the Google account you use on the Play Store and I'll add you by hand.
Questions people ask first
Will it cost me anything?
No. Overload's first month is free for new subscribers, which covers the whole test — start it when you install, and cancel before the month is up if you decide it is not for you. If you'd rather not start a subscription at all, mail me and I'll send a code that unlocks it outright.
What happens to my training data when the test ends?
It stays on your phone. If you carry on with the released app it is simply there, and you can export it at any time from You → Data → Export file.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Overload has no account and no server. Google sees that you installed a test build, the way it does for any app.
iPhone?
Not yet — Android only.
Can I leave?
Any time, from the Play Store listing. It just helps enormously if you stay the 14 days.
